Good morning.
I felt a reply from another perspective is necessary. I have been involved with SEO in various forms for a relatively short time (>2yrs) and have seen first hand the scam companies out there such as LocalAdLink Adzoo and so on. SEO is becoming quite a crowded field and I found that very few companies or individuals are really getting it right. National Positions is one of those companies that really does produce what they say as evidenced by an A+ rating with the BBB, the fact they are one of only about 40 companies that enjoys Googles designation as an approved SEO company and their designation as one of the INC 500 fastest growing companies. Obviously this does not address their email policy and if they are sending solicitations that are unwelcome they should revise. But it is so easy to have an experience like some I have read in previous posts and get online in effort to defame a company and another perspective was needed in this string.
Thank you.

These folks are a nightmare. After months of spamming us we finally got someone to call us and requested that they stop badgering us. It only got worse. We supposedly spoke to someone at the top who claims he "fired" the India call center that is spamming people, however to date we have received over 300, yes 300, emails from these folks.

Anyone who is that desperate to do my SEO is not someone I trust, and, we already are on page 1 of Google, we have our own niche and we do quite well.

Egads, I'm kinda surprised I haven't heard of this company and their spamtastic behavior before. If they're still spamming a specific person's email after being told to stop, I'm fairly certain thats grounds for a lawsuit. I wouldn't be surprised if they haven't already run into some legal trouble from this.

I found this page googleing National Positions

These guys have been spamming me a lot this year. When I have time I like to mess with
spammers minds so have been replying to them and never got a reply. Today out of the blue these guys called me on the phone, I never gave them my phone number(can be found on my website) nor permission to call.

Since they called, it was their dime and I had some spare time I listened to what they had to say and asked a lot of questions to see if I could learn anything and generally just waste their time.

When they called I could hear at least 3 other people in the background making other calls trying to sell other people their services, which never sounds very professional to me.

The first gal who made the call was very flustered since I was not able to be on the phone and the internet at the same time so that they could "show me in real time what they were doing". The first gal was so confused by that she had to get another one who could describe on the phone what they were going to try and do for me.

They have three main points they kept trying to sell, they where going to:

1. Improve my Keywords and add alt tags. I already have alt tags and since they do not know my industry enough to know what my existing keywords mean I am not to sure how they can improve them. Just to show how behind the ball this gal was she searched my first keyword and was asking if I had heard of the sites she had found, the first is the association(very unlikely I can ever beat them and if I do google is not doing its job right). The second site she found was mine
and she did not even know it was mine till I pointed it out. :P

2. They were going to make me a site map. On this site map they are going to write a 600 word article for each of my keywords that makes sense to both the search engine and people. Once again if they do not know what the words mean how can they write about the words and do anything that a person who already knows what the words mean will want to read?

3. They were going to create 100-300 inbound links a month and most of those links were going to be relevant to my industry. My industry is a very small one and most of it is not on-line, I seriously doubt they could find 300 sites related to my industry let alone ones that would link to me who have not already.

Once I convinced them that I was not impressed with the above the second gal handed me off to
a third who was trying to convince me that I needed their chat box on my website so that if I happened to be on when a potential customer is I can type at them and try to get them to reply and a whole lot of other stuff along those lines all of which my website sever will provide for free if I wanted to use it on my site(or I could use any of many different free versions that could be found on-line and uploaded).

After an hour I had to go back to real work and never did get a chance to ask how they go about billing and what they would have cost. I thought I did a good job telling them I was not
interested, but fully expect them to not give up and will bet that I find them on my answering machine in the next month.

Over all I am not impressed. If a person has not done any SEO work these guys should help your site(if they do what they say they will), but it is very unlikely that they are your best option.

If anyone else has experience with these guys I would like to hear about it brandan34 [at]
yahoo.com

Brandan

P.S. I got to looking though my past emails from them I had not noticed that they were using hotmail accounts before, makes me wonder what their email marketing would look like :/

I represent a company that has received literally hundreds of spam emails from this completely disreputable company, NationalPositions.

They spoke with someone from the company, kindly requesting that they stop their spamming activities. She said she will do her best and she is very sorry about the spamming.

One week goes by, still receiving tons of spam emails per day. Again, this person was contacted and again she apologizes and claims she will make sure the emails stop within a week, A WEEK. Really! Does it take one week to stop spam emails from being sent out even though you've already waited one week.

Again, another week goes by, spam continues. So, the end of the story is, no matter what, this company has not stopped and apparently will not stop their spamming activities.

Please do not work with this company. The only way to get them to stop is to make sure no customers use their service, then they will not have money left to send out spam emails to reputable companies.

Hi Matt,

Our client has also received this message from National Positions and passed on to us for our recommendation.

Normally I reject unsolicited SEO approaches immediately and recommend that the client ignores them, however National Positions looks like it might be reputable so I'm doing more research.

The fact that they are sending these unsolicited e-mails (i.e. spam) is a red flag though.
